Citrus juice extractor with clean peels production


Polycitrus Spellalbedo juice extractor automatically extracts the juice from citrus fruit (oranges, lemons, mandarins, limes, kinnows, grapefruits) with a diameter from 30 mm. to 140 mm, already deoiled by Polycitrus M10 or M15, and cleans the internal part of peels for candies fruit production.



The process is made, without any previous grading of sizes, with considerable savings in initial investments, space required and power installed. The working capacity can match the capacity of the oil extractor; for instance, in case of oranges it can reach 20 tons/hour.

Citrus juice produced by Polycitrus Spellalbedo juice extractor has high standards of yield and quality.



The juice has no residues of essential oil and bitter taste because:

  • the essential oil is completely extracted during the previous oil extraction stage by Polycitrus M10 or M15;
  • the fruit pass through SK 400 brushing machine before being squeezed.
    The brushing action guarantees the total removal of any essential oil residues.
    Some water jets perform an important anti-bacteriological action;
  • the squeezing pressure can be easily adjusted according to their variety, ripeness and peel thickness.
    In this stage the size of the fruit is totally uninfluent.

Working principle

Polycitrus Spellalbedo juice extractor is used after the extraction of the essential oil by Polycitrus M10 or M15 extractors.
The fruit go into the juice extractor, where every fruit is cut into two halves by a fixed knife placed between two counter rolling cylinders covered by a rasping sheet; each half fruit is squeezed against a perforated stainless steel wall, adjustable in height, placed under the two rasping cylinders in order to go with their outer contour.
The distance between the wall and the drums decreases as the fruit is squeezed so that the squeezing can be carried out smootly and progressively.
The juice goes through the perforated wall and is gathered up into a closed tank below: then the juice is sent to the two stages Rotofinisher 2 SE to reduce the pulp content.
The machine is provided with an adjustable device to remove the albedo with the remaining membranes and pulps from the flavedo to get cleaned peels for the manufacturing of candies fruit. The thickness of the clean peels can be adjusted.
The cleaned peels are ejected from a different exit than the one of the remaining membranes and pulps that are led to Polypress PL 2 screw press to get back the secondary remaining juice.

Technical data

All the parts in contact with the juice, peels and fruit are made of AISI 304 stainless steel.
The machine is provided with an adjustable device to remove the membranes and a part of albedo from peels for the production of clean peels for candies having the required thickness, a hopper for fruit input, an adjustable device for the squeezing pressure, a chute for clean peels, a chute for waste and switch panel.
It can handle fruit with a diametre 30 to 140 mm. without any previous sorting of sizes.

The machine is manufactured in three models with different working capacities:
  • Polyfruit Spellalbedo: up to 6-8 tons/hour of citrus
  • Polycitrus Spellalbedo ZX2: up to 10-12 tons/hour of citrus
  • Polycitrus Spellalbedo OS1: up to 18-20 tons/hour of citrus.
